This newsletter welcomes the Irish Agriculture Minister's establishment of a fur farming Review Group, and discusses the welfare problems for mink and foxes farmed for their fur. It also gives details of Compassion in World Farming's new campaign, Filthy Business, which focuses on the need to move away from factory farming in Europe. The newsletter also welcomes the EU-wide ban on barren battery cages for laying hens, which comes into force on 1st January 2012.
